Drones are coming to Naypyidaw
When the anti-junta demonstrations started in Burma in 2021, the outside world is very critical of its success. Singapore PM Lee Hsien Loong said in the interview that there will be no US airborne division on the ground and dismissed any prospect of success. However, it is true to say that our revolution started with hope of the West helping them. People asked for R2P and UN to come and help. You may say that this is unrealistic as a Westerner. But they do have reasons to believe that UN and US will help them. Most Burmese hate China and think that China is interfering in their internal affairs. This is the same either you are the junta’s supporter or from the democratic movement. Most people listen to BBC Burmese, VOA and RFA. They heard that UN issues statements for this and that and President Biden and Secretary Mr Blinken were worried about the treatment of Rohingya by the junta and were very critical of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi for not standing up to the junta. It is the same of EU head of states, UK and other Human Rights group as well. Now this junta took over the power and it is reasonable to assume that there will be more repression against Rohingya and no prospect of them coming back home. Therefore, the West who was critical of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi for doing nothing will do something against the junta. However, nothing has happened and no drone from NATO or the West to rescue Burma. This gives a bitter taste to Burmese people and Rohingya. They now realised that they are on their own and the rest is just a lip service. The latest act of betrayal came from woke dominated Brighton council by removing the freedom of city award to Daw Aung San Suu Kyi. However, Brighton council didn’t donate a penny to the Burmese revolution. They are like dogs barking and doing nothing to help the actual revolution. They feel good for lip service and doing nothing to help the revolution. They are now having their own moment to confront Isreal and good luck with that. They failed to press on their own Labour Party to call even for ceasefire in the Middle East and the same applies to the Democrats in US as well.
After the coup, NLD led law makers formed a National Unity Government and most governments shun to recognise it. They meet with its foreign minister in the sidelines of the meeting but no actual recognition. The only true friend is Timor-Leste where they support and stand by Burmese people. The NUG formed an army, and they started fighting the junta’s troop. The dream of most Burmese people is to bomb Naypyidaw and the NUG’s minister, Dr Sa Sa asked for drones to achieve with this goal. There was no help from US and UK and no penny donated to the NUG. Only help is sanctions and meetings. The amazing thing about this revolution is that PDF(People Defence Force under NUG) follows the standard of the western army like NATO although they do only have very primitive weapons. They don’t target innocent civilians like Taliban or ISIS or Burmese military. They managed to stop any infiltration of terrorists inside their camp. This is a very remarkable achievement for this revolution in Burma. In fact, Burmese’s neighbours don’t want this revolution to succeed. They did what they can to block any supply of weapons to Burma. The NUG and Generation Z came up with some innovative ideas to design and produce weapons and drones inside Burma. By doing so, they managed to produce weapons with a fraction of the cost and also started to design and test missiles and drones as well. It is very important to point out that there was no help from any foreign countries. It is all done by Burmese people. They learn, design and produce it. It is no doubt that there was loss of life during the initial testing stage. But they have no choice but to carry on. There is one good thing about the NUG. They managed to get the funding from Burmese people and able to use it very effectively. There are a lot of things they can do it better, but you have to remember that this is not a Biden administration or Rishi Sunak’s government, and they are doing a lot better as a revolutionary government.
The question is that how they are going to materialise their dream of drones flying over and bombing in Naypyidaw without the help of any foreign countries. If there is a will, there is a way to do it. These Gen Z designed and tested several prototypes to do this mission. They have to try with short range drones and then moved to long range one. The cost of Iran made Shahed 136 drone is between $20,000 and $50,000. There is no way the NUG can use that amount of money to buy a drone. So they came up with a plan and help with Gen Z. These drones cost only a fraction of what Iranian drones are and they are very effective. It is organic and home grown.
What is the impact? It’s too early to say what is the actual impact was. What I can disclose is that there were four military officers certified death on that evening and 20 casualties admitted to the military hospital. There are reports that Senior General Min Aung Hlaing’s house asked a team to come and do some maintenance work after the drone strike and some drones landed on some military buildings in Naypyidaw and its airport. Who will think that the NUG can do it three years ago without US and UK? If you evaluate these drones attack, they choose the military targets like NATO’s army does. They are even better than Israeli drones in avoiding civilians. This is very important to point out because they can choose to maximise the casualties by hitting other targets like markets. They show their moral authority by choosing purely the military targets. What this means is that their values and code of conduct are similar or higher than the western armies who have more expensive weapons. In addition, their drone technology is quite advanced, and they can evade radar and Russian made latest drone protection system which is deployed for Russian’s army visit. The technology is also value for money if you are after economic of the war. In addition, it strikes the heart of Naypyidaw and instilled fear in the junta’s family.
In conclusion, organic drones are coming to Naypyidaw whether you like it or not. The prospect of winning the war against the junta by its own people without the help of US and the West is now higher than Ukraine winning the War against Russia with the help of US and NATO. It’s not too late for the West to help Burmese people to show their moral authority rather than airwave diplomacy. It is time for US to recognise the NUG of Myanmar and help our revolution before too late.
ဒရုံးများအားလုံး နေပြည်တော်သို့
မြန်မာနိုင်ငံမှာ အာဏာသိမ်းမှုကို စတင်ဆန္ဒပြခဲ့ချိန်က ကမ္ဘာကြီးက နိုင်မှာမဟုတ်ဘူးလို့ ထင်ခဲ့ကြပါတယ်။ စင်င်္ကာပူဝန်ကြီးချုပ် လီရှောင်လွန်းကဆိုရင် အမေရိကန်စစ်တပ်ကလာမှာမဟုတ်ဘူး၊ မအလစစ်တပ်ကိုမနိုင်နိုင်ဘူး၊ တွေ့ဆုံအဖြေရှာရမယ်ဆိုပြီး ပြောခဲ့ပါသေးတယ်။ စာရေးသူတို့တော်လှန်ရေးအစပိုင်းမှာက ကုလက R2P နဲ့ လာကယ်မလားဆိုပြီး မျှော်ခဲ့ကြပါတယ်။ ဒါက မဖြစ်နိုင်တာကို တောင်းဆိုတာလို့ နိုင်ငံခြားသားတစ်ယောက်အနေနဲ့ ထင်နိုင်ပေမယ့် ပြည်သူတွေမှာ မျှော်ရတဲ့ အကြောင်းရှိပါတယ်။ မြန်မာပြည်ထဲမှာက ဘောမဖြစ်ဖြစ်၊ ဒီမိုဖြစ်ဖြစ် တရုတ်က မြန်မာ့အရေးဝင်စွက်တယ်လို့ထင်ပြီး မုန်းကြပါတယ်။ အများစုက ဘီဘီစီ၊ ဗီအိုအေ၊ RFA တွေနားထောင်ပြီး ကုလကကြေညာချက်ထုတ်တာ၊ သမ္မတ ဘိုင်ဒင်၊ နိုင်ငံခြားရေးဝန်ကြီး ဘလင်ကန်ရဲ့ ကြေညာချက်တွေကြောင့် ရိုဟင်ဂျာကိစ္စမှာ အမေစုကို အားမရဘူး ဘာညာပြောလို့ သူတို့ထံက အများကြီး မျှော်လင့်ခဲ့ကြပါတယ်။ သူတို့ ရိုဟင်ဂျာကိစ္စမှာ ပြင်းပြင်းထန်ထန်ကန့်ကွက်သူ တာဝန်ရှိသူ မအလက အာဏာသိမ်းချိန်မှာ အမေစုကိုင်တွယ်တာမကြိုက်တဲ့ လူ့အခွင့်အရေးအဖွဲ့တွေနဲ့ ကုလ၊ အနောက်အုပ်စုက မအလကိုများ ဝင်တိုက်မလား မျှော်လင့်ခဲ့ကြတာပါ။ ဘာလို့လဲဆိုတော့ မအလအာဏာသိမ်းအပြီးမှာ ရိုကိစ္စက ပိုဆိုးဖို့သာ ရှိမှာမိုလို့ပါ။ ဒါပေမယ့် နေတိုးနဲ့ အနောက်အုပ်စုထံက ဒရုံးမရခဲ့သလို တစ်ပြားမှ မြန်မာပြည်သူတွေအတွက်မရခဲ့ပါ။ ဒါက မြန်မာပြည်သူတွေကို ငါတို့မှာ ငါတို့သာရှိတယ်ဆိုတဲ့ အသိကို ပေးခဲ့ပါတယ်။ နောက်ဆုံးသစ္စာဖောက်လုပ်ရပ်က ၂၀၂၃ မှာ အင်္ဂလန်က Brighton မြို့ကောင်စီက အမေစုကိုပေးထားတဲ့ဆုကို ပြန်ရုတ်သိမ်းလိုက်တာပါ။ သူတို့က မြန်မာပြည်သူအတွက်တစ်ပြားမှမလှူဘဲ ခွေးလိုသာ ထဟောင်ခဲ့တာပါ။ သူတို့ဟာ အစ္စရေးကိုတော့ မဟောင်ရဲပါ။ အဆိုပါမြို့ကိုအုပ်ချုပ်တဲ့ လေဘာပါတီက အစ္စရေးကို အပြစ်ရပ်ဖို့တောင် မပြောရဲသလို ဘိုင်ဒင်ပါတီကလဲ အပြစ်ရပ်ဖို့ လေသံမာမာ မပြောရဲတာကို လေးစားဖွယ်တွေ့ရပါတယ်။
ဒါပေမယ့် မြန်မာပြည်သူတွေက သူတို့အလုပ် သူတို့လုပ်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။ အာဏာသိမ်းအပြီး ရွေးကောက်ခံအမတ်တွေက အမျိုးသားညီညွတ်ရေးအစိုးရဖွဲ့ပြီး ခံချခဲ့ပါတယ်။ ဒါပေမယ့် အနောက်နိုင်ငံများက သူ့နိုင်ငံခြားရေးဝန်ကြီးနဲ့ နိုင်ငံတကာအစည်းအဝေးမှာ အလွတ်သဘောတွေ့တာကလွဲရင် အသိအမှတ်ပြုဖို့ လက်ရှောင်နေခဲ့ပါတယ်။ တီမောအစိုးရကသာ မြန်မာပြည်သူ့ဘက်က ရပ်တည်အသိအမှတ်ပြုခဲ့ပါတယ်။ NUG က PDF ဖွဲ့ပြီး တိုက်ခဲ့ပေမယ့် မြန်မာပြည်သူတွေရဲ့အိမ်မက်က နေပြည်တော်ကို ဗုံးကြဲဖို့ပါ။ ဒေါက်တာဆာဆာက ဒရုံးအတွက် အကူအညီတောင်းခဲ့ပေမယ့် အမေရိကန်နဲ့ အနောက်က ဒရုံးမပြောနဲ့ တစ်ပြားတောင် မပေးခဲ့ပါ။ အားလုံးက လေပါဘဲ။ စီးပွါးရေးပိတ်ဆို့တာ ကြေညာချက်ထုတ်တာလောက်သာ ကူညီခဲ့တာပါ။
ထူးခြားတာက NUG အောက်က PDF တွေဟာ စစ်စည်းကမ်းလိုက်နာရာမှာ အရပ်သားကို မသတ်တဲ့နေရာမှာ ခေတ်မှီလက်နက်ပိုင်ဆိုင်တဲ့ နေတိုးစစ်တပ်တွေထက် စစ်စည်းကမ်းပိုရှိတာကို အံ့ဩဖွယ်တွေ့ရတာပါ။ အရပ်သားတွေကို တာလီဘန်တို့၊ အိုင်အက်စ်တို့၊ မအလတပ်တို့လို ပြည်သူ့တပ် PDF က မရမ်းတာ မသတ်တာက သူတို့ရဲ့ စည်းကမ်းကောင်းမှုကိုပြနေပါတယ်။ PDF တွေဟာ နိုင်ငံတကာကစိုးရိမ်တဲ့ အကြမ်းဖက်သမားတွေ သူတို့ထံစိမ့်မဝင်နိုင်အောင်လဲ တားနိုင်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။
ဒီတော်လှန်ရေးမှာ လက်နက်မရအောင် အိမ်နီးချင်းနိုင်ငံတွေက ဝိုင်းတားခဲ့ကြပါတယ်။ NUG က Gen Z လေးတွေနဲ့ပေါင်းပြီး ပြည်တွင်းမှာ လက်နက်တွေ၊ ကျည်ဆန်တွေ၊ ဗုံးတွေ၊ အမြောက်တွေကို ထွင်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။ အစပိုင်းမှာ လိုအပ်တာတွေကို ဒီဇိုင်းဆွဲ၊ ထုတ်၊ မှားရင် သင်ခန်းစာယူ ပြန်ပြင်နဲ့ ထုတ်လုပ်လာခဲ့ကြပါတယ်။ လက်နက်စမ်းစဉ်မှာ သေသူရှိပေမယ့် ဇွဲမလျော့၊ အားမလျော့ဘဲ ဆက်လုပ်ခဲ့ကြပါတယ်။ NUG ရဲ့ ထောက်ပံ့ငွေက ပြည်သူ့ထံကသာဖြစ်ခဲ့ပြီး အနောက်အုပ်စုက ဘာမှမပေးခဲ့ပါ။ အချို့က NUG ကို ဝေဖန်ပေမယ့် NUG ဟာ အမေရိကန်ထောက်ပံ့ခဲ့တဲ့ ကာဘူးအစိုးရ၊ အီရတ်အစိုးရတွေထက် ငွေကို အကျိုးရှိရှိ အသုံးချပြီး တော်လှန်ရေးကို ဆက်လျှောက်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။ NUG အစိုးရဟာ အမေရိကန်က ဘိုင်ဒင်အစိုးရ၊ ယူကေက အစိုးရမဟုတ်တာကို မမေ့ပါနဲ့။
ဒီနေရာမှာ မေးခွန်းက ပြည်သူတွေက သူတို့အိမ်မက်ဖြစ်တဲ့ နေပြည်တော်ကို ဗုံးကြဲဖို့ကို ပြည်ပနိုင်ငံကြီးတွေရဲ့ အကူအညီမပါဘဲ ဘယ်လိုအောင်မြင်အောင်လုပ်ခဲ့သလဲဆိုတာပါ။ လိုလျှင်ကြံဆ နည်းလမ်းရဆိုသလို မျိုးဆက်သစ်လူငယ်တွေဟာ သူတို့လုပ်ချင်တာကို ဒီဇိုင်းဆွဲစမ်းသပ်ပြီး လုပ်ခဲ့ကြပါတယ်။ သူတို့က မိုင်အနည်းငယ်ပျံနိုင်တဲ့ ဒရုံးတွေနဲ့စခဲ့ပြီး မိုင်ရာချီပျံတာကို စစမ်းသပ်ခဲ့ကြပါတယ်။ အီရန်ရဲ့ အပေါဆုံးဒရုံးက ဒေါ်လာ နှစ်သောင်းကနေ ငါးသောင်းအထိ ကုန်ကျပေမယ့် မြန်မာလူငယ်တွေက ဒီကုန်ကျငွေရဲ့ ရာဂဏန်းလောက်နဲ့ အဝေးပြန်ဒရုံးကို ထုတ်နိုင်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။
ဒါဆို ဒရုံးကြောင့် နေပြည်တော်မှာ ဘာတွေထိခဲ့လဲ? လက်ရှိအတိအကျသိတာက အရာရှိငါးယောက်သေပြီး စစ်ဆေးရုံမှာ အယောက် ၂၀ ဒဏ်ရာနဲ့ တက်နေရပါတယ်။ မအလအိမ်ကို ပြင်ဖို့အတွက် အင်ဂျင်နီယာတပ်ကိုလဲ ခေါ်ထားပေမယ့် ဘယ်လောက်အထိ ထိလဲဆိုတာတော့ မသိသေးပါ။ စစ်ရုံးချုပ်နဲ့ လေယာဉ်ကွင်းကို အစပိုင်းဒရုံးတွေက တိုက်ရိုက်ထိခဲ့ပါတယ်။ ဘယ်သူကများ NUG ဟာ အမေရိကန်နဲ့ အင်္ဂလိပ်အကူအညီမပါဘဲ သုံးနှစ်အကြာမှာ နေပြည်တော်ကို ဗုံးကြဲနိုင်လိမ့်မယ်လို့ ထင်ခဲ့ကြပါမလဲ? ဒီနေရာမှာ NUG PDF ဟာ သူတို့လုပ်ချင်ရင် လူအထိများနိုင်တဲ့ စျေးတွေကို ရွေးလို့ရပါတယ်။ နေပြည်တော်မှာ အများစုက မအလတပ်နဲ့ပတ်သက်သူများသာမိုလို့ အရပ်သားဆိုရင်တောင် စစ်ရေးပစ်မှတ်ပါ။ ဒါပေမယ့် NUG/PDF ဟာ စစ်ရေးပစ်မှတ်စစ်ကိုသာ နေတိုးစစ်တပ်လို စနစ်တကျရွေးချယ်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။ သူတို့ရဲ့ ဒရုံးတွေဟာ အစ္စရေးလိုတောင် အရပ်သားကို လုံးဝ မထိခဲ့ပါ။ ဒါဟာ အင်မတန်အံ့ဩ ဂုဏ်ယူစရာကောင်းတဲ့အချက်ပါ။ သူတို့ရဲ့ စိတ်ဓာတ်နဲ့လုပ်ရပ်ဟာ အင်မတန်အားကျဂုဏ်ယူစရာပါ။ နောက်တစ်ခုက သူတို့ရဲ့ ဒရုံးတွေဟာ နည်းပညာအလွန်မြင့်ပြီး ရုရှားဒုဝန်ကြီးလာလို့ သုံးခဲ့တဲ့ ရုရှားက နောက်ဆုံးပေါ် ဒရုံးပစ်လက်နက်ကိုတောင် ရှောင်နိုင်ခဲ့တာပါ။
အကျဉ်းချုပ်ရရင် ဒရုံးများအားလုံးဟာ နေပြည်တော်သို့ လာနေပါပြီ။ မြန်မာပြည်သူတွေ မအလကိုအောင်နိုင်ဖို့ဟာ အမေရိကန်ကူညီနေတဲ့ ယူကရိန်းက ရုရှားကိုနိုင်ဖို့ထက် ပိုသေချာနေပါပြီ။ အချိန်မနှောင်းခင် အနောက်အုပ်စုအနေနဲ့ ပြည်သူကို ကူညီပြီး NUG ကို အသိအမှတ်ပြုကာ ပြည်သူဘက်က ရပ်တည်ပါလို့ တိုက်တွန်းပါရစေ။ လေနဲ့ကူနေရင်တော့ လေပါဘဲလို့သာ ပြောပါရစေ။
